Knut died while he was alone in his compound, and while TMZ is reporting that they have seen one report that Knut was found floating in the water in his compound, that has not been confirmed.

The world-famous polar bear made headlines around the globe when he was rejected by his mother and raised by humans.

There was a lot of controversy surrounding his existence as he got older, as it seemed he was addicted to the attention and cameras.

His keeper Thomas Dörflein, died a few years ago of a heart attack.
