NP Rank:
Koran burning is ridiculous; beheading for it is outrageous
The desecration of religious objects is ridiculous and hateful. The Taliban desecrated religious sculptures of Buddha a few years ago and that was a colossal attack on ancient works. The burning of a Koran by two American radical Baptists is a pitiful display of ignorance and disrespect. Yet, in America one may burn any book they own whether it is a Bible or Koran. They can burn a flag too.
As for attacking innocent people and using Koran burning as an excuse, that is on par with cannibalism. Such behavior incites more hatred and disrespect. It is hard to imagine why Americans would want to work to support the Afghanistan government when its reaction aligns as much with the beheading as anything.
Keep it up and Afghanistan will continue to receive what it deserves. Perhaps simply leaving it to its demise is best.

United Nations office Friday in northern Afghanistan, killing 12 people, including three foreign UN workers and five Nepalese UN guards, officials said.
Two of the foreign dead reportedly were beheaded, Reuters reported.
The other four dead were protesters, the Associated Press reported.
"We can confirm an attack on the UN mission in Afghanistan's operations center in Mazar-i-Sharif, and can confirm that there have been deaths of UN personnel," deputy spokesman Farhan Haq said at UN headquarters in New York. "The situation is still confusing and we are working to ascertain all the facts and take care of all our staff."
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon's special representative in Afghanistan, Staffan De Mistura, was "on his way to Mazar-i-Sharif now to deal with the situation personally on the ground," AFP reported.
The rampage began when demonstrators marched in Mazar-i-Sharif and in the capital Kabul on Friday to protest the burning last month of Islam's holy book by Florida pastors Terry Jones and Wayne Sapp. Jones reportedly put the Koran "trial," then supervised Sapp as he burned the book.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the burning, and called on the U.S. to bring those responsible to justice.
Jones captured headlines last September when he threatened to burn the Koran on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks. Jones canceled the burning after appeals from several world leaders, including President Obama.
Jones, meanwhile, issued a statement Friday, calling on President Obama to "take a close, realistic look at the radical element Islam... It is time that we call these people to accountability."

Terry Jones does not seem to think that any of this may be even the tiniest bit his fault. While murdering innocent people for the actions of one wingnut overseas is inexcusable, it would be the height of stupidity for Jones not to have seen this coming.
More likely: Terry Jones did see it coming, and just didn't care.

Terry Jones and Wayne Sapp At the Dove Outreach Center in Gainsville Florida should both be arrested for being a threat to national security and citizens of the world and not reaching out to peaceful Muslims! They both should be put in an Islamic prison as there punishment! How can they call themselves christians if by their actions they don't care about others even the lives and well being of their own countrymen, and put others at risk, all without even reading the Koran himself, which is the life guide of many millions of peaceful Muslims, not just the excuse of radicals who want to controls the rights and freedoms of others, much like Terry Jones and the rest of his gang of ignorant idiots! I think you are onto something. A case could be made that these people are subversives.
