Kosovo Independence - only thing organized is the crime
Kosovo has been an independent country from 17.2.2008. Or has it? Of the five members of the UN security council with veto power, USA, UK, and France recognized the independence. Russia and China consider it illegal. This far 39 countries have recognized Kosovo independence, including Canada and most of the European Union countries. Independence of the small country is also a piece of the global politics game.
Now the war has changed to peace and Kosovo has tasted freedom for few months. This means, that the daily problems become visible. There are problems with electricity, corruption, health care, traffic etc. etc. Only thing which seems to work is the black market.
There are still military and police personnel from other countries helping the young country. And there is no sign, that foreign support would not be needed in the future.
So what will happen in the future. Will Kosovo be able to maintain it's independence and create it's own country. I think not. Most likely there will be demands for USA and EU for help and support (money). Besides the tension between ethnic groups, Kosovo has several huge administrative challenges. Infrastructure is destroyed or too old. It will take several years to build the country to modern society and Kosovo sure cannot manage alone. So Kosovo thanks for it's independence and wishes that the the rest work would be done for it too.
Will Kosove get help? Well, it dependence, how important piece of the game will it be in the future.
