The Krispy Kreme Challenge 2010 took place today in Raleigh and thousands of runners consumed 72,000 donuts and raised over $40,000 for the North Carolina Children's Hospital.

To take part in the Krispy Kreme Challenge, runners have to run two miles, eat 12 donuts and then run the two miles. back.

The Krispy Kreme Challenge started when a dozen people dared each other to do this challenge back in 2004. It turned in to a scheduled event after the runners saw the success of the challenge and how much money it could raise. Now it is an annual event.
