Kyle Sandilands Shock Jock Panics When 14-Year-Old Reveals Rape

Kyle Sandilands, a popular FM shock jock panics on the air when a 14-year-old girl reveals that she was raped when she was 12, as she was taking a live polygraph test on the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

It was part of a segment on the air that made the girl answer questions from her mother, and Kyle Sandilands, after the girl revealed that she had been raped two years ago, asked her if it was her only sexual experience.

The incident has sparked angry criticism and numerous calls to child welfare authorities, with the girl apparently forced into participating by her mother.

When her mother asked the teenager if she was sexually active the girl replied: "I've already told you the story about this ... and don't look at me and smile because it's not funny".

Raising her voice she then said: "Oh, OK, I got raped when I was 12 years old".

Kyle Sandilands has said that he was stunned by the revelation and was just panicking to find something to say.

"To tell you the truth I was floundering around, signalling to the producers and Jackie down the camera indicating that we had to get it off air," he wrote.

"I didn't realise I had said have you had any other experiences?"

The girl's family is to receive counselling, but her mother is more concerned about how big of a news story this is turning in to.

Kyle Sandilands however, refused to apologize to the teenage girl:

"As far an apology goes, the only person I feel sorry for is the girl.

"That what should have been dealt with as her private situation ended up being one of the biggest news stories of the day.

"As for what I said, it wasn't intended to hurt.
