Slow down in the economy spreading auto sector in germany now manufacturor has started shuting iheir plants..

German carmaker Opel has announced it is temporarily suspending production at two of its plants due a sharp reduction in the demand for cars in the European market. According to the German daily “Bild Zeitung”, the production stoppage went into effect at the Opel plant in Bochum this week, impacting some 5000 employees there. The Opel plant in Eisenach is slated to be shut down for three weeks beginning on Monday, affecting another 1800 employees. Due to the drop in demand, Opel plans to produce 40,000 cars less this year

pankaj kumar, I like this story. It's good stuff. Wrong headline: no shutdown, temporary supending production. Opel germany will be the backbone for GM low consumption cars and hybrid electric cars. The Opel vectra is the base for other models.

I AGREE  with your point but I have taken demand shut....not shut down..

It is the effect of lowering spending in europe too.
