Lahore Bomb Blast Kills at Least 30, Injures 250 in Pakistan

As more information comes in about the car bombing in Lahore, Pakistan, reports state that at least 30 people were killed and more than 250 injured. An explosives-filled car blew up outside a police building, in an attack that included gunmen who fired at the police office.

Video footage aired showed at least one gunman being arrested and taken away, along with two others reported arrested.

The attacked occurred on Lahore busiest thoroughfare, Mall Road, where in addition to the targeted building there is a court building, a police headquarters building, an office of country's main intelligence agencyand some other government facilities. Rescue 15 houses the police rapid response team, which is dispatched during emergencies.

India condemned the attack, with government officials saying they hoped Pakistan and India could work together to fight terrorism.

Condemning the blast in Lahore, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna today hoped that Islamabad and New Delhi can join hands to fight "this spectre of terror."

He said India is monitoring the situation arising out of the bomb attack.

"I feel sorry that an incident has taken place in Lahore... We condemn this attack in Lahore," Krishna told reporters here.

Every time I read this sort of news, may it be an Alquaida attack or an RAF or IRA or some one like T. Mcway, I wonder what is going through their heads to be able to kill so many innocent people with out mercy? There is some thing very sick about human nature at times.

This is so abhorrent. How can these criminals ever think they are benefiting the people, by killing them, destroying their cities, towns, country, their livelihoods? How can the people side with these monsters?

There is just something so twisted in their minds, that they fail to be humans, acting worse than animals. More like rabid dogs.

LAHORE: Terrorists struck Lahore for the third time in as many months with the emergency response police bearing the brunt of a brutal suicide attack on Wednesday that left a total of 23 people dead.
