Lancasters and other planes flew very low (only about 50 feet up) above ground in Western Holland for ten days in spring 1945 to drop precious bundles of food (flour, powdered milk, chocolate, etc.) for the starving Dutch who had suffered greatly during the Nazi occupation and a severe winter.
