Minister Faisner Musthapha's trip to Bahrain to "attract tourists" to Sri lanka came a few days after the UAE Foreign Ministry warned its citizens not to travel to Sri lanka unless it was for "urgent matters."

SRI Lanka's Deputy Tourism Minister Faiszer Musthapha is to visit Bahrain this week as part of a tour to attract tourists to his country.

He will address a Destination Promotion Road Show 2009 at the Golden Tulip Hotel at 7.30pm on April 1.

The event is being organised by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau in collaboration with SriLankan Airlines.

More than 400 Bahraini tourists visited Sri Lanka last summer, said SriLankan country manager for Bahrain Terrence De Silva.

The UAE foreign Ministry is concerned about the safety of its citizens who plan to travel to Sri Lanka due to the war that is prevailing in Sri lanka. The UAE Ministry has also requested its citizens to register at the UAE embassy in Colombo in the event they do travel to Sri Lanka.

Dubai - A United Arab Emirates Foreign Ministry official said Sunday that his government is urging its citizens not to visit Sri Lanka except for "urgent matters," due to security conditions in the country. The ministry also recommended that citizens living in Sri Lanka should register with the UAE's embassy in Colombo.

Any responsible president or Minister will take care of lives their own citizens.  But Sri Lankan citizens are very unfortunate in that case !!
