Larry Long: Dad Leaves Baby in Oven While Drunk and High

Larry Long Has Been Arrested after Leaving his 5-Week-Old Baby in the Oven Overnight

The oven was not on, and the door was slightly ajar, but Larry Long, 33, left his 5-week-old son in the oven because he was too drunk and too high to fully comprehend what he was doing. The baby's mother, Brandy Hatton was also there in the house and had four or five shots of whiskey before going to bed and leaving Long with the baby at their home in Kentucky.

Larry Long had been smoking marijuana while he was working at the restaurant earlier on Sunday and after driving home he shared a fifth of whiskey with Ms. Hatton as reported by CNN.

It wasn't until 5:30 the next morning that Hatton says she awoke to her baby crying and she found him in the oven. She called 911 and the baby was taken to hospital and checked out but appears to be fine.

When Larry Long realized what had happened he called a mental health crisis line, and they reported the incident to the authorities.

Larry Long has been charged with first degree wanton endangerment and is currently being held on a $10,000 bail. He has blamed his actions on the marijuana.

The baby has been removed from the home and is currently in temporary custody with member's of Ms. Hatton's family.
