A Latina on Supreme Court IS Better than 77% White Male Court

Judge Sonia Sotomayor is right.  WIth a US Supreme Court that is 77% white male in a country less than 30% white male, Sotomayor's experience as a Latina woman is much more needed and "better" on the Court than that of yet another white man.  In this context, which has been the same, more or less, since the country's founding, the addition of some people who are not white men is "better" than the addition of yet another white male opinion, just as the addition of tomatos is better when making a salad that is so far virtually all lettuce.

That anyone should doubt that a Latina opinion on the Court is "better" when there is no member of the country's largest minority on the Court is shocking in itself.  White male supremacists would have us believe and accept that an all-white male Supreme Court is good enough for America, and that adding minorities and members of the 53% female majority is not "better". 

They are wrong.  Diversity on the US Supreme Court IS "better" than an all white male Supreme Court, and those who doubt it are those who believe that an all-white-male Supreme Court is superior to one that is integrated.  They are the white male supremacists.  They are the bigots.
