Laura Ingraham's racist apprehensions!
Tonight on the O'reilly Factor, Fox News Contributor and nationally syndicated radio host, Laura Ingraham was brought on to critique Michelle Obama's speech last night at the Democratic Convention. Ingraham said that "she didn't buy" Michelle Obama's speech, and that she thinks Michelle Obama is holding something back. O'reilly pressed Ingraham to say what she thought Obama was holding back, but Ingraham never specifically said what and suggested there was something more sinister to Michelle Obama.
What is Michelle Obama holding back? Why is there something sinister about Michelle Obama? The answer: Michelle Obama is holding back how black and angry she is. Ingraham never gave any rational explanation as to why she thought this, so obviously her apprehensions have to do with something. . If Michelle were white, would the reaction be the same?
Laura Ingraham never gave any explanation as to why the White House would have to nail down the valuables when Al Sharpton visited.
It's scary that people like Ingraham are given national platforms.
Footnotes: Ingraham was the founder of the Ultra Conservative Darthmouth Review and reportedly a member of the Concerned Princeton Alumnist. They tried to limit affirmative action on college campuses.

Bob Carson, I like this story. It's good stuff.

Thanks for bringing this point out, I have some questions, What is Laura Ingrahams background in terms of being qualified to determine whether someone is holding something back, is she profesional phychological profiler?
at 08:18 on August 27th, 2008
>She is a lawyer. If anybody knows a witness is holding back, a lawyer knows.
at 21:22 on August 26th, 2008
She has a racist background. She was the editor of a magazine that published pictures of hanged african americans. She was a member of a group that tried to derail minority admissions to Princeton.
Is it any wonder that someone like this would have apprehensions about a minority?
As noted in my story,. she also had apprehensions about Al Sharpton's visit to the White House, lol.

To equate opposition to affirmative action with racism is ridiculous. And don't you think it is reasonable for someone else to think that the wife of one of the men running for president would hold something back in a speech? Michelle Obama has said some things that have been damaging to her husband's campaign; she didn't say anything moronic at the convention though because she was holding back.

BigT, there is a difference between being agaisnt affirmative action, and actively trying to stop minorities from attending college. That's institutional racism, just like a college newspaper making fun of black people.
If Laura had given that reason, then I may be inclined to agree with you, (although you can still argue her being racist for holding that opinioin) but she didn't. She gave no reason at all, which leads one to believe this is a race issue.

<If Michelle were white, would the reaction be the same?
Her analysis of Hillary's speech was along similar lines.

^ I doubt that.

In any event, though, please show me. Thanks!

Bob Carson, I like this story. It's good stuff. Well reported. Your conclusions may be needing. She went on to criticize Biden as well. She equally criticized both. Some folks think that affirmative action has been problematic for Blacks as folks often say, "he/she only got here because of affirmative action." So here there is a Black man/woman in the office and they have to prove or do 150% better then others to prove they were hired for their skill level and not because they were black.
The same goes for folks who go to colleges and Universities. Affirmative Action does not even the playing field, it adds another level of hoops that a Black man/woman has to jump over to be equal with his peers.
That is my opinion and I could be wrong.

Albert, I respectfully disagree. She criticized Biden for his being pro-choice- she criticized Obama based on her race. Why didnt she give a reason for her apprehension of Michelle Obama? Why didn't she state why she thinks there is something more sinister about Michelle Obama? Can you see how this may come across as being racist?
This is like saying, I was standing next to someone today in an elevator (person being black) and I felt apprehensive, or that person may have had sinister motives, without saying why.
Obama is actually against Affirmative Action. You can certainly be agaisnt it without being racist, but to actively try to limit minority students, is racism. Remember: The separitists forced African Americans to drink from different water fountains and to sit in the back of the bus. Colleges should be for everyone.

By the way, Albert, keep up the great work on this site!

Mark Levin today was accusing Michelle Obama of ripping off a comunist writer. This is the type of garbage that these rightwinger peddle out.

By the way, thanks to all who marked this story "good."

What upsets me is that you have African Americans that go on Fox News. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson should urge people not to.
at 09:34 on August 28th, 2008
Jesse Jackson has urged the congressional black caucus not to work with fox. The NABJ has deemed Fox the worst when it comes to reporting on blacks. The point is, Dorota, African Americans know this. 87% of fox viewers arae republicans. Very few republicans are african americans.

Thanks for that information. I know the rapper Nas feels that fox is racist.
at 13:13 on August 28th, 2008
Yep, and O'reilly called him a thug and said he was calling Fox racist to boost declining record sales. I can't count the times daily that african americans are disparaged on that network.

What a great speech Obama gave!

I heard Laura Ingraham bashing MSNBC, but yet she has just about every MSNBC person on her show all the time. What a hypocrite!

Gee, look at what Ben Stein said about Barack Obama. Is it any wonder that he is close with Laura Ingraham.
Ben Stein said the following while discussing Obama attacking McCain for not knowing how many houses he has: Stein: "Ah, it could work. I don't think it's going to work because I think Obama, ah, people... I think, if I may say so, there's just too many people who are not going to vote for a black candidate. But, ah, especially a black angry candidate. I hate to say that because I abhor racism but I don't think it's going to work for that reason."
Cavuto asked Ben Stein to reiterate his comments, and he did. I have been saying this for months on nowpublic. The right in this country views Barack Obama as an angry black man. I applaud Ben Stein for having the courage to say what's on the mind of everyone on Fox.

So are you trying to say you do not have to agree with an angry white person but have to agree with an angry black. That is racist.
Amercia is a country of all races. One race is not better than another. All races are equal. MLK wanted all people judged by their content not the color of their skin. So why is it wrong for Laura say what she did. I doubt she is for angry whites either.
at 22:39 on September 15th, 2008
If I said I felt apprehensions about riding in a elevator with a black person without saying why, I am a racist, or at the very least, prejudiced towards blacks. This is the same thing here. Ingraham never gave a reason for her skepticism of Michelle Obama. If she had said she thought Michelle hated America, then her comments would not be racist.

I never even heard of this Laura person until the Ms. McCain publicity. It's too bad it's all just feeding her more publicity than she deserves. The Republicans are always hungry for loud-mouthed, me-me-me, better-than-thou types to spout off and shoot down anything remotely forward-thinking and/or positive from any Democrats as being something "sinister". Her blatant racism is disgusting enough for me to never have reason to tune in and I'm a 45 yr old white woman. I was fortunate to be raised by parents who clearly taught us to know right from wrong and judgment of any kind based on stereotypes, race, etc, is just wrong. Sadly there are too many other people who see that view point as "liberal" or "open-minded" when it really should be more clear than a simple label. On another note, I recall a day when "Fox News" was considered to be a joke when the network was new--what happened? It seems I blinked and suddenly there are people claiming they are the best source around, how did they turn their reputation around to obtain such a large following after starting as a joke? And why is it that so many Republicans gripe about how awful the media was to their candidate but they are all too willing to quote or live by the rules of another media source? As for Meghan McCain, I appreciate that she is willing to at least respect her/our President. I'm sickened by the amount of emails I get from ultra-conservatives who are all too eager to see him fail. What a sad and pathetic way to look to the future! I don't think any of us enjoyed any of Bush's failures, I would have been thrilled if his lapses in judgment had not taken place!

Well said! Your better off not knowing about people like this.
As far as Fox News, The National Association of Black Journalists have rated them the worst when it comes to reporting about minorities.
