Anse Vata, Noumea New Caledonia

Noumea was the first shore stop on our cruise, we dis-embarked at around 10am and toured the city, enjoying the patisseries and gasping at the prices (everything was around double Sydney costs).

I think Noumea runs on the principal that the pourer the service, the better the food... definitely the food was excellent at the cafe we finally got some service at... best baguette I've had since France...

We took the No1 bus down to Anse Vata Beach (above) and settled on the beach for a few hours, swimming out to the pontoons to sunbathe and chatting with the locals before a mad dash back to ship... last on board...
The structure in the photo is Le Roof.. a famous restaurant...
