Leibby Kletzky: 8-Year-Old Found Dismembered in Brooklyn

The feet of eight-year-old Leibby Kletzky was found in pieces in the freezer of Levi Aron's apartment. The rest of his dismembered body was found in in a trash bin two miles away.

Leibby Kletzky disappeared on July 11 while walking home from day camp to meet his family in Borough Park, Brooklyn when he got lost.

35-year-old Levi Aron has confessed to murdering and dismembering Leibby Kletzky. The crime has shocked the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Borough Park (both Aron and Kletzky's family are Orthodox),  as well as parents of young children across the city: this is the absolute worst-case scenario envisioned by parents when deciding whether or not to let their little kids walk around alone.

Levi Aron Confession

According to Levi Aron, he abducted Kletzky when the boy asked him for directions, taking him to "a wedding" and then locking him in his apartment. He then smothered Kletzky and dismembered him when he found out that the police were looking for him.

Those at the aforementioned wedding confirm seeing Aron, but not Kletzky.

It is not clear whether or not Aron molested Kletzky. Aron had defensive wounds on his arms, indicating a struggle. An attorney representing Levi Aron said that his client is mentally ill and hears voices in his head.
