Levi Aron: 40 to Life for Killing Leiby Kletzky
Levi Aron, who confessed to the murder and dismemberment of 8-year-old Yehudah "Leiby" Kletzky, has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison. When Levi Aron is eligible for parole, he will be 76 years old.
On August 9, Levi Aron pleaded guilty to kidnapping and second-degree murder as part of a plea deal.
The Leiby Kletzky case shocked Brooklyn's Borough Park, home to a large ultra-Orthodox Jewish population. Both Levi Aron and Leiby Kletzky's family are Orthodox. The Kletzky family did not attend Aron's sentencing hearing; they had agreed to the plea deal to avoid a drawn-out trial.
