NP Rank:
"Liberal elites" and Communist Conservatives
There is constant shouting among Republican constituents about "liberal elites." It is time that this shouting be seen for what it is.
We have of course heard anti-elite talk before. Hatred of upper classes and anti-elite rhetoric was central to Communist message. For people who use claims of Communism as a label for everyone they don't like to be using Communist arguments is quite pathetic. Its equivalent would be for Israelis to be using arguments from Mein Kampf.
The people who shout the most about "liberal elites" are the same people who consider their way to be the most successful way ever invented. Now if these people (and their way) were actually the most successful ever invented, then they would themselves be elites, as that is what the truly successful people become. Instead they constantly savage "liberal elites" and blame them for all their problems even as they claim to be big responsible macho Americans, and anyone who has problem with anything that they do to be whiners. This can mean either one of two things. Either they are not as successful as they claim themselves to be, or their liberal elite talk is hogwash. Or both at once.
Actual elites will be found where there is money or power. There will be elites in business, in church, in medicine, in law, in the military, and (to a much lesser extent in America) in government branches. These elites, many of them possessing strategic intelligence, will be likely to expend some of their resources to make people think that they are serving their benefit - and as part of strategic intelligence, in a nation that claims to practice egalitarianism, to be portraying as evil elites entities other than themselves. Thus the talk about "liberal elites" in art, science, education and media, and not about Texas Oil, Christian Right, Big Beef, pharmaceutical industry, American Medical Association, and similar elites that are in fact preying on people in many and sundry ways and practice profound corruption in their practices.
These predatory groups have covered their tracks for long enough, and it is time that this be recognized. And it is time that the scapegoating of scientists, teachers, artists, and journalists be seen as just that. Real predatory entities are covering their tracks and making people believe that everyone other than themselves are abusing them. Meanwhile scientists, artists, teachers and journalists are working overtime with little pay not only to do work that in fact serves public benefit - and without which American business, American worker and American consumer would have very little of what they have - but also to protect themselves and their work from these predatory groups and from people who have been manipulated by such to see them as the reason for their problems.
So if one is actually interested in confronting entities that have been preying upon American people, one would be going after Texas Oil, Christian Right, Big Beef, and similar predatory operations. Compared to the preceding, scientists, artists, teachers and journalists in America are positively angels, and ones possessing of vastly superior values than any of the preceding. As for the people who do not want there to be elites at all, the correct response is "when hell freezes over." To get rid of elites one would have to get rid of everything that makes elites. And that would reduce America to the level of Cambodia under Pol Pot.
So when Republican politicians are shouting about Washington establishment as they are trying to become part of Washington establishment, ask them: Are you trying to become part of what you hate, or are you just conning people? And when they shout about government activism, as they try to become part of government, ask them, Are you running for government so that you can do nothing at our expense? This con has gone on for long enough, and it is time that it be seen for its actual character.
And the conmen who have been a part of it and insist on being a part of it must likewise be known for what they are.

It needs to be clarified who you mean by "These people" and when you state, "people who consider their way to be the most successful way ever invented.", you need to define what the goals of `these people' and how they measure the achievement of their goals. Some people measure their `success' by the accumulation of wealth and possessions e.g. entrepreneurs, other people define their goals and success in achieving power and control over others e.g. politicians, while other have goals and success in how they improve and enrich the lives of others,e.g.care professionals. Of course these distinctions are not always clear in some and they claim they have all of these goals and different levels of success in each. You also need to clarify what are the ".. vastly superior values than any of the preceding." What are the values they consider to be vastly superior?. What is the belief system on which such values are based?. How do they justify that such values are `superior'?. I'd also be interested in how you see `these people' relating and functioning within the Patriarchal and Male Supremacist system in Western societies, and how they have structured the political and social system to protect their position of privilige.e.g. Organised religions, Homophiliac groups such as Freemasons, the legal profession, judicial system, politics and government, the media, industry and commerce, etc.

Sure.
By "these people" I mean the Republicans who shout about "liberal elites."
By "vastly superior values" on the part of teachers, scientists, artists and journalists I mean educating the population, achieving real knowledge, rooting out corruption, protecting human rights and personal freedoms, and creating a sustainable and livable future rather than hoping for an Armageddon before the bills have come due.
The entities of which I am speaking consist of both men and women, and what I see standing against them is not male domination (although there are plenty of patriarchial people there) but cultures of conmanship and deception, such as ones that are attacking them from American Right.
My goal in this and many other posts is to expose the lies of American Right so that more people know what they are dealing with here.
