Liberal "elites" and success in America
In today's political discourse we are hearing a lot about "liberal elites." And yet these are the same people who have claimed for decades that liberals are losers and that conservatives are winners. Which makes their claim the height of hypocrisy.
What is an elite? An elite is a group of people who have become successful at something. Thus, the "liberal elites" if there is such a thing are people who are successful. Meanwhile the people who keep impugning the "liberal elites" are the same people who believe themselves to be successful and nobody else to be successful and who claim liberals to be losers. So where is the logic here?
The logic here is the same that conservatives have used for decades: The logic of conmanship. They want to think that their way of life is the only one that is functional. So when someone who is not part of conservatism becomes successful, they have to make the case that they are evil in order to sustain their fallacious worldview.
We see this kind of conmanship all the time. Women, supposedly, are stupid; so if a woman exhibits intelligence then she isn't really smart, she is evil. People with book learning and intellectual perspective are supposedly weak; so if a person with book learning and intellectual perspective becomes strong then he isn't really strong, he is a baddie of one or another kind. Black people are supposedly inferior; so if a black person rises to a position as high as the President of America he isn't really a great man, he is Hitler. Liberals are supposedly losers; so if liberal people become wealthy or influential then they aren't really super-achievers, they are a part of an elite.
So whenever we hear arguments about "liberal elites" we know that what we are hearing is deception. An elite, whether liberal, conservative, moderate or apolitical, is a group of people who have achieved success. For people who claim their way to be the most successful way devised in history of humanity to attack success is absolute hypocrisy. Either they are in favor of success - and they should respect the successful people of different ideology - or they are not in favor of success and should stop claiming credit for America's achievements.
