NP Rank:
Liberal Pythonesque Rant Results in Conservative Lawsuit
Barry Artiste, Now Public Contributor
Federal Opposition Liberal Leader Stephane Dion's accusations of bribery and corruption against the Conservation Prime Minister Stephen Harper televised on National Television brought to mind visions of Monty Pythons French Taunter. Stephane Dion when angry certainly gets his French out in a comical way.
At the end of this story, I direct Now Public Readers to compare the two rants, both on You Tube, one Monty Python and one Stephane Dion, judge for yourself.
Harper threatens to sue over attempted-bribe allegationsNorma Greenaway and Juliet O'Neill,
Canwest News ServicePublished: Tuesday, March 04, 2008OTTAWA -- Opposition MPs intensified their attacks Monday on Stephen Harper over an alleged attempt by Conservative officials to bribe the late MP Chuck Cadman with a $1-million insurance policy, despite the prime minister's threat to sue the Liberals for libel and a statement from Cadman's wife that she believes Harper was unaware of the offer.
Liberal leader Stephane Dion dismissed the libel threat as nothing more than a bid by Harper to "avoid" answering questions and repeated the charge of bribery outside the House of Commons.
"It's going to take much more than the threat of a lawsuit to stop us from getting at the truth," he vowed.
