Libya documentary (Counterculture) وثائقي ليبيا Part 1
Benin's Intro:

This article was written by a contributor to the African Path news network (of which Cheetah Index is part of)-Shabelle Media.  They publish stories from Somalia.  I enjoyed this article because for the most part, what does the media ever say about Somalia? War and destruction-aggression with Ethiopia and clashes between the Somali clans, right?

But how many people know that despite all of this an amazingly thriving business community exists there.  Somali's themselves have developed into master business people and it is great to see Libya recognizing this-although sometimes I wonder about Libya's alterior motives anytime they go to other parts of Africa publicizing their good deeds.  It makes me go back to the question of, "What was Kadafi thinking when he tried to push the idea of a United States of Africa-with himself as the president?"

From Shabelle's piece as published on the Cheetah Index:

Libya has decided to grant Investment fund to Somalia through Sahel-Saharan Investment and Trade Bank. This was made known by a source close to the organization in Cotonou capital of Benin where the 10th summit of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, CEN-SAD, is being held since Tuesday.

According to this source, the money will be paid to the Sahel-Saharan Investment and Trade Bank [BSIC] and will be used to fund infrastructures such as roads and bridges within Somalia.

Note: the video is just an overview of the culture of Libya - for those of you unfamilar with the country.

Thanks Amy.  That is quite interesting.  Actually, I was not surprised to hear the reporter say that Kadafi's picture appears on the highway billboards about 1 time every kilometer.  But was surprising is how the country seems so untapped by outside investment.

Thanks again.
