Men Cut Free From Wreckage Of Crashed Plane

A Piper PA-22 light aircraft skirted treetops before crashing into the garden of a bungalow near Ashurst in Hampshire UK.

Two men, the pilot and a passenger, had to be cut out of the plane and are both now seriously ill in Southampton General Hospital.

15 firefighters from three different fire stations worked to free the men from the wreckage of the plane.

The incident could have been much worse as the plane narrowly missed houses to crash in the garden of ahouse on Woodlands Road.

Police have said that they do not know the cause of the crash and that the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch are now investigating the crash.

Fire crews were called to the crashed plane, a Piper PA-22 plane, at 2.15 pm.
