Linden NJ Murder: New Jersey Homicide Case

Authorities in Linden, New Jersey, have begun a homicide investigation after body parts of two people were found in plastic garbage bags on Monday, April 5.

The body reminds were discovered by sanitation workers before noon. They were left near the intersection of Essex Avenue and Cranford Avenue.

The medical examiner has confirmed that the body parts were human, from one male and one female adult.

Homeowner in the neighborhood were very disturbed. One said that the bags had been lying by the curb since Thursday, but did not call to have them removed because of Easter.

"The bodies were in various state of dismemberment," said Union County prosecutor Theodore Romankow.

He has confirmed that the male is Hispanic, age 30 to 35. The woman is believed to be either Caucasian or Hispanic.

The Mayor of Linden, NJ, said the shocking homicide is "very unusual for this area."

Autopsies were scheduled in the afternoon, and will hopefully provide investigators more information about the crime.
