A Honeymooning Couple Caught a Lion Attack on its Trainer at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas

The trainer is fine, but it was a scary situation when a 400-pound lion clamped onto one of its trainer's legs and would not let go.

ABC reports that another trainer rushed to the aid of the one attacked and a lioness jumped on the back of the huge beast.

"It looked somewhat like a lunge," said witness Drew Ellis, who was honeymooning in Las Vegas last week and captured the attack. "He was definitely up on his back feet."

Mr. Ellis said that even though the room where it all happened is soundproof, the agony on the man's face was clear.

Jack Hanna, the Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo in Ohio told ABC that it is likely the animal was just  playing.

"I looked at [the video] about 10 times," Hanna told "Good Morning America" today. "If that was an attack, it would've been over with in about five-tenths of a second."

The trainer is now recovering, but this attack brings to mind the white tiger attack on Roy Horn in 2003 at the MGM Mirage Hotel - Casino.
