Lisa Murkowski Write-In Campaign Certified in Alaska

After three months, Alaskan Senate write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski was confirmed as the winner of the contentious midterm election. Lisa Murkowski had beaten Joe Miller by 4.5% of the total votes, but Miller had challenged the result in court, seeking to throw out the result based on misspellings on some of the write-in ballots. The lawsuit was dismissed.

Now, Division of Elections Director Gail Fenumiai is going to have to brave the east-coast airport quagmire:

It will be hand-carried by a state employee to Washington, D.C. so that it can be delivered to the Secretary of the Senate by Monday, the deadline to ensure Murkowski is sworn in for the start of the new Congress.
