This is a list of US airports with full-body scanners as a primary screening tool. You're most likely to see these full body scanners in the international terminal. Meanwhile, users of the FlyerTalk forum have compiled a running list of US airports in which they've encountered full-body airport scanners. The list does not differentiate between scanners that use millimeter-wave or backscatter technology.

  • ABQ (Albuquerque
  • SFO (San Francisco) (This must be very recent, since I used both domestic and int'l terminals at SFO within the past month and did not encounter a full-body scan)
  • SLC (Salt Lake City)
  • MIA (Miami)
  • TUL (Tulsa)
  • LAS (Las Vegas)

Flyertalk's list (subject to change):

  • ABQ(Albuquerque)
  • ATL (Atlanta)
  • BWI (Baltimore)
  • CLE (Cleveland)
  • DCA (Washington DC)
  • DEN (Denver)
  • DFW (Dallas-Ft. Worth)
  • DTW (Detroit)
  • IAH (Houston)
  • IND (Indianapolis)
  • JAX (Jacksonville)
  • JFK (New York City)
  • LAS (Las Vegas)
  • LAX (Los Angeles)
  • MIA (Miami)
  • PHX (Phoenix)
  • RDU (Lafayette)
  • ROC (Little Rock)
  • RIC (Richmond, Va)
  • SFO (San Francisco)
  • SLC (Salt Lake City)
  • TPA (Tampa)
  • TUL (Tulsa)

Critics of full-body scanning argue that it amounts to a digital strip-search, and that civil rights concerns outweigh the scanners' benefits, which could arguably be achieved with better intelligence and information-sharing.

In June, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill to limit its use for airline screening. The bill, introduced by Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, would prohibit such images unless a metal detector first indicated a need for more screening. The bill has moved to the Senate.

Let's hope that the in transit passengers are screened as well!

I have not heard much yet, but I am a Muslim Women, I would not want to be digitally striped searched just to go somewhere. They should have options, to benefit everyone.

You do not have to get scaned, but you will be subject to a pat down.  I understand your need for privacy but I think a body scan is more private than a pat down.

I think people are focusing more on the bad rather than the good. So one person will slightly see through your clothes on a tv screen. -Personally I would much rather that than have something devastating like 9/11 happen again. Let try and look at the bigger picture.

I think it is people like yourself (Rodriguez) that are the reason we have this happening as it is.  If we as a people would have stood up to up to just some of the injustices that are "forced" upon us in all the prior years then we would have already "shown" those that make these decisions that they are simply not acceptable.  We are not the terrorists but they make us feel as if we are...it's the just one of the many false flag attacks on us.  We MUST wake up and see the truth for what it is.  Pay attention, although main stream media in the US does not report, they simply entertain these days.  Ask questions and stand up for your rights.  History repeats itself...Jesse Venturn Conspiracy Theory trutv (episodes avail on youtube).

This is really depressing.Plus, how much is it true that these rays are unharmful? For me it is plain propaganda.Someone is making high profits out of it.The risk is minimum compared to the hassle.Think of the ammount of extra time needed. In some cases the use of a bus or car will be much more profitable.I might cancel my vaccation trip of next week.According to my itinerary I`d have to pass through four scanning sessions.Does it worth the humiliation and constraint that my 7-year-old son and I have to go through?

I have to agree with you.  I wonder about the safety of the scan.  What cancer will it be found to cause 10 years from now?

This is really rediculous when you think about it. A terrorist would read where the scanners are located and take another flight. Did anyone ever think of that? First we have the shoe bomber and then we can't take too much liquid on the flight, and then we...... .....etc, etc, etc. where does it all stop. There are too many people that don't like being nude in front of anyone, much less some-one they don't even know. Another is, old ladies are easy targets to pull out of line to be inspected. I loved flying but not anymore, I'm train bound!! .

This is conditioning designed to make you submissive to big brother. We are heading into creepier and creepier times.Do you really think this is in response to an attempted "terrorist attack"? They could not have supplied all these airports all over the world unless these things had been ordered months in advance. The attempted attack was nothing more than theater.

Before any of you continue to complain about the effects of the scanner, read into it. The scanner is only used as a secondary tool. You will still first pass through the normal metal detectors and IF there is suspicion or a need for further exam then you would have the OPTION of going through the scan OR being physically pat down by TSA personnel. The scan is in a private room and the person reviewing the images are in a complete different room as well. The face is obscured to avoid identification and the images are deleted right after the scan is finished. That is it. Plus I would much rather have US ( thats including you) be safe on our flights then have another incident that does follow though.

All those in favor of full body scanning go here...www.theamericansheeple.comDo not pass go.  Do not collect $200.  Or go directly to jail.

I went through the body scanner at TPA and I was fine with it.  It is for the safety of us and others.  If you don't like the body scanner then you would get a pat down.  If you don't like either then walk.

This is an affront on our privacy and our liberty! The people in this room that think this is a good idea, or that this will somehow prevent another attack, are really ignorant. It's nothing personal, just true. People need to wake up and see that we are all being made to have an 'inmate' mentality. We are now living in a police state, where innocent's are treated often worse than criminals!Wake up people!!! Naked body scanners are a HORRIBLE idea! The so-called 'underwear' bomber didn't even go through security at all! Why does that make the scanners a good thing? Watch:EndgameObama DeceptionFall of the RepublicPolice State
