Snowing in earnest in Washington DC
Government closed two hours early this afternoon and the freeway is clogged as the snow is falling in earnest now. We are expecting between three and six inches. If we get the full six inches and the temperature holds below freezing, my bet is government will close tomorrow, Thursday. If the sun is shining in the morning and the temperature is above freezing, everyone will be back to work.
Let me check the report one more time before I show you my pictures.
The report shows snowing through the evening and a high of 34 tomorrow, therefore, unless the snowplows are miraculously effective, there will be a late start in the morning at a minimum.

Accumulation is now significant. Traffic into the city has stopped with all lanes blocked on the I-66. No traffic is going out of town now. This is a northeaster with snow coming right off the Atlantic.
