Many on the right, from Rush Limbaugh to Glenn Beck, were furious this past week when President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. On Fox News, Liz Cheney suggested giving the Peace Prize to the U.S. military which is currently involved in two wars.
Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, told Fox News that President Barack Obama should not accept the Nobel Prize, but give it to the military instead “because the US military is the greatest peacekeeping force in the world today.”

If the US is all about peacekeeping and defence - the US should pull all their troops out of all countries and place them on US soil.

All of them. From Japan to Europe.

It.s a great goal, but I doubt it will happen, even under Obama

The US should pull all their troops out of all countries.... Here is a quote from Roy Edroso at alicublog with another right wing reaction to the Peace Prize: Apparently the new angle is that the Committee contrived by means of the award to get Obama to abandon Afghanistan, hand the U.S. over to global-warming internationalists, and Lord knows what else. Thus, if henceforth Obama does anything the Right doesn't like, it will be in appeasement of our Oslo overlords. Soon the Scandinavians will replace France, Russia, etc. as right-wing hate-objects, and Jonah Goldberg will be writing about lutefisk-eating surrender nudists.

Here's a quote from Cheney's appearance of "Fox News"Liz Cheney: Obama Given Nobel Prize For Opposing American Dominance
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Liz Cheney attacked President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize. "Well, I think what the committee believes is they'd like to live in a world in which America is not dominant. And I think if you look at the language of the citation, you can see that they talk about, you know, President Obama ruling in a way that makes sense to the majority of the people of the world," said Cheney. "You know, Americans don't elect a president to do that. We elect a president to defend our national interests. And so I think that, you know, they may believe that President Obama also doesn't agree with American dominance, and they may have been trying to affirm that belief with the prize. I think, unfortunately, they may be right, and I think it's a concern."  Brilliant, just f''cking brilliant! Liz and Sarah in 2012.

Obama is commander-in-chief of those military forces Liz Cheney talks about!

The Military is the greatest problem in the world. They do not create peace...they create fear. It is true because throughout the history of mankind...there is always war....because man has not figured out he is ruled by fear not peace. He is afraid to get rid of the military establishment, is afraid to abandon the dead soldiers and veterans...which reinforces the disease of fear...and the trap of being a slave to the Military....and in todays world slaves to the United States Military.... I refute that bondage....and devote my life to seeing the end of the Military Establishment so men can have peace instead of fear.

Americans are all living in fear...they are without knowledge or know what peace is. They are essentially cowards.

America's dominance!

If it was not for Liz Cheney's father and the evil war baron Bush there would be no need for the US military to be where they are to day. Her father is an elitist who made money out of war as the Bush Family make money out of oil.

She the daughter has no value in commenting about peace prizes. America has lost much of its ability to be dominant its not because the democrats are soft its because the actions of Bush and his cronies destroyed and broke the back bone of America. USA can not afford to be dominant it has to lean on others and has to resolve to peaceful methodologies whilst trying to sort out the damn mess caused by a bunch greedy elitist.

Now we have two wars that should never of been on the drawing board. that if the troops are even sent home is still going or could end up as a money drain because USA will have to back up the government in power with ammo and equipment to hold off the terrorist enemy. The killing of US and UN military will not stop until the last man is airlifted out.

We see people bitching at Obama's peace prize and disappointed peace activist complaining the latter have no ideas how difficult it is to take all troops away from a battle front that will still be there and even escalate due to the gradual removal of troops. Leaving two Vietnam's so to speak, civil war and expect ethnic cleansing and possible at least one of the nations to be as fundamental as Iran. An Al-Qaeda laughing at US and UN defeat.  Oh you the peace activist thought it would be simple just remove the troops?

I do vote for peace however know its practicly impossible and takes forever due to much hatred that is not easily sumounted. Unfortunatly its impossible to rid the Military Establishment because it could be suicide as the enemies will not all agree to remove theirs.

"If it was not for Liz Cheney's father and the evil war baron Bush there would be no need for the US military to be where they are to day."Umm...I'm always in favor of people thinking about what they say, before they say it. Apparently you do not share this value. You start your heated, well worded, but poorly thought out explosion of nonsense.I'll start with your first statement. Whether you meant to or not, you directly blame Cheney and Bush for Al-Qaeda's attack on our home. How did Cheney directly make money from the war - who paid him other than US citizens? Other than the Texan oil companies that Bush owns, how is he making money off of foreign owned oil? Next, Obama won the Nobel Peace prize less than 4 days after announcing that 40,000 troops will be deployed to Afghanistan making the total serving there around 85,000. Not exactly a push for peace. Then again, we can't have peace without war... (That's an oxymoron by the way).Oh wow, you got one right. Troops can't just be pulled out. Actually, you're wrong. Troops can just be pulled out. If you take a gander at the United States Constitution (something a lot of citizens and politicians have carefully ignored) the police action policy allows the executive branch, with congressional approval, to send troops in for 60 days and an extra 30 days with further approval. First, our representatives have forgotten that they have power - (checks and balances) power to uphold the constitution and represent public opinion within their district. Second, we as citizens have forgotten our civic duty to participate in society. This last election we had record numbers of votes, and yet 100 million eligible voters forgot to vote. We consistently show that we don't care. Write a letter to your reps and tell them how you feel, with enough letters expressing similar views, you can bet damn sure your rep will follow through (they like the incumbent seat thing).Sadly, we are not pulling out to keep America on the PC. Which is dumb. Iraq is set, they have more money in the bank than we do, they have a standing army and an active police force. They're lacking air protection - so we should watch their sky and let them handle the ground. Afghanistan - they attacked us - we attack back. End of story? Eight years later....I guess not. Our general says a surge of troops is needed. This just makes sense. You drop a pencil in a corn field and you have 20 people looking for it. Gonna take a while. You send 80,000 to find it, you find the pencil, a pen, and a pack of gum. I'm sorry, but past president's have had war or war-time experience enabling them to make choices that will enable victory. Bush, jumped ship and had an affair with a man while he was serving. Obama was in Hawaii in college. He's a lawyer. He's not a general, he has no military experience... He should be given choices from our war staff and choose between A, B, C and D. I will agree with global peace being impossible. Whilst differing cultures and governments exist, we will never have utopia. Utopia can only exist with world order - with world order, we end international disputes and gain domestic disputes and eventual civil war (Yay!). We are a people of perpetual war...we can't go without it...it's our addiction, our crack, our cigs. We have to go out every once in a while and start one. Sometimes we chew the gum or wear the patch in the form of police action. In conclusion, please be more informed before spewing your crap on the web - there's enough of it out there, don't add to it.

Even Alan Greenspan admitted the Iraq invasion was about the oil. Carrying a war on two fronts is insane. Yet Cheney & Company went into Iraq anyway. Foreign intel be damned, weapon inspectors be damned. He had zero consideration for the troops in Afghanistan. Did he not learn from the recent Russian experience there?Profit?..can you say "No-bid contracts?" Cheney's Halliburton stock has gone up many times since the invasion. Add to that no oversight by the Republican Congress.Saddam had to be deposed because he was causing the price of oil to yo-yo. He did not want to attack the US, he wanted to stay in power like any dictator. What fools we were to listen to Cheney propaganda. Remember the ridiculous mushroom cloud reference?Liz Cheney talks like it is America's right to rule the world. A chip off the old megolomanaic block. T. Boone Pickens is outraged the Chinese are now getting the Iraq oil contracts. These people are insane. We are all citizens of this planet and Manifest Destiny is a sick concept.

People are bitching at Obama's award....because we can't see what he has done to earn it. He has been nothing but literal smoke and mirrors.. Bob it is people like you who give the lame excuses to why we should stay, yet want the war to end. It is you guys who prolong this lie. You worry that Alqaeda is laughing at us...when in fact they are probably more relieved that the War is ending. They are as happy as we to stop the war....Think about it Bob.... They are not laughing at us.

Vietnam we literally just pulled out...and Vietnam is still there today on friendly terms...I think your fears are unfounded.

Obama needs to step up and do his talking to China....to get them to help with domestic business development in Afghanistan. Why? Because Afghanistan is on their border..they have more at stake in the issue, than the US cares to admit.

The Chinese own billions in Treasury Bonds...and they have a lot to lose if the dollar crashes. The War is not helping the strength of the dollar. So China needs to do things to stop the fall of the dollar. This means doing negotiations with Afghanistan to bring about business opportunities. When China grows, and brings in US exported goods, jobs are created and well being comes to fruition. The dollar stabilizes and we get a win win situation for the US and China..that also helps Afghanistan.

We need people to tell Algaeda there is no war to fight. We have only one thing to do and that is to work to sustain and develop our communities. Work is not war. We need to make the friendship leap. Make friends with the Taliban and Alqaeda...and stop the war.

The continued fight with Alqaeda is in my opinion revengeful acts....Acts that still have no bearing or facts that they really did 911 to begin with.  So leaving is in my view nothing hard, except get Obama talking to China, tell the World the War is over...and Alqaeda has no enemy in the world to fight against. Tell the troops to pack it up and move out of Afghanistan. Very simple.

The people in Afghanistan view troops there as an occupation....not as soldiers ridding the country of terrorists. They do not like Kharazi using US troops to prop up his militia government. If Karazi distances himself from the US..more Afghan's will see it is an Afghan Government not a branch of the US Empire.

GO TO WAR FIRST. Then see if thats what you want. Ask your father if it was worth the lives of my fellow men because of  a lie. You have to be there to know what you are talking about. How many of your family members have you lost in war that has no end in sight. Why do you want to keep it going?  Are you going to run for the sen.
