LONDON MARATHON HEROES
HIGH FIVE TO ALL WHO TOOK PART IN THE LONDON MARATHON.
The great thing about the London Marathon is that the money raised goes to many different causes. Every year has been a success. This year it was a case of spot the Celebes so many showed great support for their chosen charities. Model Jordan along with Husband Pete Andre hobbled to the end line together. Peter holding Jordan up every last step of the way as her knee caved in and gave her a bit of bother. Her superman Pete with super pecs looked so fit. The Bees knees, with his new All American tan. The one Celebe I did miss at this year’s event was Jimmy Seville, even though I always disliked his Shell track suits with an uneasy passion, I liked to dislike them and loved the way Jimmy turned up year after year to do his bit. Age has never stopped many of the folk running the Marathon some of the runners were pensioners awe bless.
Most people would not have got to the end of the line, but the fact they entered at all, is just truly amazing. There were soldiers and war heroes, one veteran did it with artificial legs can you believe it how very commendable and brave. This year a women won it, one up for the girls there, and a slap on the face to any men out there who regard females as the weakest sex. Now this is the week of recovery for the brave and adventurous. No Doubt there will be thousands of blistered feet, aching limbs. Torn ligaments sprained ankles you name it.You know what they say! NO PAIN NO GAIN.
The gain is humongous for various charity organisations where every penny counts. The people who are often forgotten are the guys who prepare the route and ensure the path is danger free and clear for the runners. The men who clean the streets after the event. Alls well that ends well blisters as well, they heal fast with salt water soaks ,then some soothing peppermint foot balm. Yes Britain has talent in abundance for I really do admire each and every person who took part. They are the real Stars.
