The Trafalgar Square Festival in London, UK, is set to celebrate the beginning of Beijing Olympics but also the beginning of the countdown to London Olympic Games in 2012. The official handover of the Olympic torch and flag from Beijing to London will take place on August 24th at the Closing Ceremonies.

The festival kicked off on August 6th featuring Chinese Kung Fu artists who impressed the crowd with their tricks and mastery. The festival will go on for the duration of the Olympic Games and will celebrate sport and culture.

Visitors can catch footage of the games on a giant screen installed at the foot of Nelson's Column and each Thursday, Friday and Saturday enjoy outdoor performances including acts such as the Flying Dragon Circus and dance company Zoo Nation.

The three-week festival is divided into three parts: China Inspirations, Olympics Aspirations, and Image of London.
