A Long, Hot Summer of Hate
The recent musings of Conservative talk show/cable hosts like Rush Limbaugh, who attempts to align President Barack Obama and his administration with the Third Reich and Nazi Germany and Glenn Beck, who was named by protestors as their inspiration when they appeared at a recent townhall meeting and who has recently declared President Obama hates White people, are noted in this article, suggesting their commentary seems geared to enrage and rile those who may hear their words.
As members of the U.S. Congress head home to their districts during the August 2009 summer recess, it is planned many will be hosting townhall meetings to inform their constituents of the bills currently being considered in the process of overhauling health care and more region specific concerns in their respective states.
While genuine misunderstanding and misinformation has fueled the concerns and fears of many who are attending townhall meetings across the United States, believing they will suffer as a result of possible changes to the current health care system, there are citizens being organized by those who are linked to the insurance industry, who have been issued talking points instructing some citizens attend to disrupt and prevent meaningful dialog at these townhall meetings.

Once again the sheeple nod and say, "uh-huh".
It is ONLY hate if practiced by conservatives &/or Republicans. If liberals do the same thing, it is called "free speech".
What is is called when the amazing Obamarama machine asks folks to snitch on their neighbors?
What is is called when the amazing Obamarama machine organizes union members to bully folks at the town hall meetings?
What is is called when the amazing Obamarama followers call the idiots that won't follow the plan, "un-american"?
Now, now, i understand that dumbest liberals are smarter than the smartest conservatives, still, gotta wonder, eh?

Thanks for posting this. Beck and Limbaugh. How can they live with themselves? I guess the money makes it easier. Will.

Thankfully someone is beginning to talk sense about the inevitable violence that will come from all this.
I can understand corporations wanting to protect their profit, but, in industrialised nations of the west, only in the US can this happen.
In some emerging nations this happens, too. But it is not acceptable. I does worry me that elected officials can be threatened in such a way - all because they don't have the losers cannot accept that they have lost and hence don't have the high ground in debate. This may be channelling viewers to FOX and listeners to Rush - but will they be held accountable if something does happen?
The answer is a resounding no.
All I can say is that the world is looking in - and this sort of thing is making the US look bad, really, really bad - but I am not American so does my opinion matter? To some it doesn't, to others - well, we will have to see about that. I hope upon hope that something doesn't go catastrophically wrong,
Debate, yes - but having certain commentators ushering "Fight, fight. fight" is nothing more than play ground bullying. And I am sure the US is really above that.

These types of attacks are wrong and should never be made but they are similar to attacks made by democrats against president Bush.
Wrong now, wrong then.

Thank you for this post, Karen. As an outsider looking in, I'm absolutely appalled that this stuff is going on in a supposedly "civilized" country. Nothing good can ever come from it, and I too fear the worst.
Why can't people see that this is all about power and control, but NOT by the government.
