Look both ways in Santa Cruz

That's a bidirectional bike lane on this two-way street (Cliff Drive) in Santa Cruz, CA. In spite of the signs at every driveway and intersection, most people I observed pulling out of parking lots pulled right through the bike lanes and up to the street before stopping to look. I nailed a brand new Mercedes that did this just down the street from where this photo was taken. I was on a rental bike and no damage was done to me; the driver was ticked at first but then realized he was at fault so I just went on my way.
