Lorenzen Wright Autopsy Results: Shot to Death, Now a Homicide
Lorenzen Wright Was Shot to Death and Police Are Now Investigating His Case as a Homicide
Police have confirmed after Lorenzen Wright's autopsy that the former basketball player was shot to death and they are now investigating his death as a homicide.
Wright was found dead in the woods near Hacks Cross and Winchester in Memphis, after he had been missing since July 19.
Police said a 911 call was placed from Wright's cell phone early on July 19. Investigators determined the call came from the area where the body was found and on Wednesday searched the woods and found Wright.
Police were able to make a correct identification based on dental records and although they are saying he died of a gunshot wound, they are not saying where the 34-year-old was shot. Investigators previously said they did not suspect any foul play, but are now treating it as a murder case.
His family has asked for privacy during this time and wish to mourn Wright's loss in peace.
