Lou Dobbs, long time anchor of CNN, announced last Thursday that he was leaving CNN after 30 years with that Cabel News Network.    He stated that he negotiated mutual release of his contract with CNN.

Last night Dobbs made his first public appearance on Bill O'Reilly's The Factor.

Dobbs described what led to his resignation at CNN, which was basically that he did not like the direction the network was going.  Apparently CNN is changing its format form Opinion type reporting to a more objective style.

Lou Dobbs was an outspoken advocate against illegal immigration  He said as a result he received personal threats and his house was shot at.  This opened his and his wife's eyes.

Lou Dobbs had also been increasing critical of the Obama Administration policy.  When asked by O'Reilly if Dobbs thought Obama was the devil, he replied no but his policies are not good for America.

Dobbs said that he was fortunate enough to have many opportunities and that he would stay in the public arena.  O'Reilly asked him if the rumors that he would run for the US Senate in New Jersey were true, Dobbs  commented that he would not be coy about it and that he had many opportunities.

O'Reilly asked Dobbs to become a regular contributor to the Factor to which Dobbs agreed.

Lou Dobbs guaranteed Bill O'Reilly Monday that he is going to "remain in the public arena," and suggested that the only factor that made his brand of "advocacy journalism" unacceptable at CNN was the arrival of the Obama administration into power.

In an appearance on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" set to air Monday night, O'Reilly welcomed Dobbs — who he described as "recently emancipated" — for his first cable news appearance since resigning from CNN last week.

"Now, there's been speculation you might run for the Senate in New Jersey. Is that on your mind?" O'Reilly asked.

"A lot of things are on my mind," Dobbs responded. "I'm not going to be coy about this....I'm thinking — my wife and I are thinking about a lot of opportunities. I'm very blessed to have a lot of opportunities.

O'Reilly is the epitome of advocacy journalism -- so why did Dobb's appear with him, other than to advocate his next political move?

Maybe he hates being out of the limelight.  It also looks to me as he is using The Factor as a way to get a show with another network and a way to continue to be a sounding board for now.

Oh, the grass has hardly moved from under Dobb's feet. He knows exactly what he is doing.

You bet he does.  I am sure he has a few offers too.  Not with MSNBC though. LOL

Good interview.  I don't agree with O'Reilly's comment at 6:25 "opinion's what works."  It works for only certain types of people, some of us like to form our own opinion.

And what kind of stupid idiot question is that last one?  (9:35)  "Barack Obama ... is he the devil?"  I guess now I know why I don't normally watch people like him.

I have to agreed with Blue Crush on the question O'Reilly asked Dobbs.

When was the CNN format change announced?  I am not a regular viewer, but when I have watched, it looks the same.

"Barack Obama ... is he the devil?"

Might be a rhetorical question, but let's wait till one of the experts on this show up. They are sure to have the correct answer.

It is unknown whether many adhering to extreme Right Wing ideology or the extreme Right Wing of the Republican Party view President Obama as the d(D)evil or not.

However, World Net Daily, which is frequently read and embraced by elements of both groups, has promoted the notion that President Obama may be the anti-Christ.

Yup. Kinda funny.

Nixon was too. Henry Kissinger, Gorbachev, PeeWee Herman.  Almost make an All-Star Clown Circus with the list of them.

Well, Hugh, aside from Pee Wee Herman, I don't consider any of the others, or President Obama, All-Star Clown Circus list worthy.

Seriously?  I mean really?  Did you ever catch Nixon doing his used car salesman routine?

Have you in stitches!

The man was flat fun, AND funny.

People shouldn't get news from one source anyways.  If people don.t think that half the stuff that shows on tv is not propaganda and produced to influence opinion, then we are all fooling ourselves.

Old battle wisdom:  Know your enemy.  Thus it is important to make sure you know how MSNBC and FOX thinks, especially if your not driven by party politics.  They all spout propaganda.
