I dont believe this. Ltte surely must have limited artillary at this stage and who would they rather use it on, their enemies or civilians? It wouldn't surprise me if sla killed these innocent civilians and passed the blame on ltte. To all sla lovers, don't want to know!! Truth is, nobody knows the truth, especially not that portrayed as the truth by the sla army website. I'm fed up of accusations flying from both angles. Sri Lanka is hiding enough truths through their ban on international media intervention. Once the people are all out, truth will be known. I don't trust anything coming from pro-army or pro-ltte websites! But pictures of the dead tell a story. Yes the above civilians are dead. But who murdered them?? THAT is the mystery. You guys in Colombo only know about the attacks by the ltte. Those from Jaffna/Vanni only know about the attacks by the sla. Just like you don't trust the ltte, you can't blame the tamils for not trusting the sla. Sick and tired of the whole thing. Just remember, this is not tamils and sinhalese against each other. This is more about Tamils against the treatment of sla on Tamils from personal experiences and the sinhalese against the treatment of ltte from personal experiences. But I'm sure, or I hope, nobody supports/puts up with any forces targeting innocent civilians.

Where is the so called ICRC , UN and other Human rights groups shout in Sri Lanka Violation of Human Rights, They can only point the finger to Sri Lankan Government and not for the LTTE, They can make statements in openly when a Bomb hit a Hospiatals or schools even those were dramatically base on falls reports. But when Sri Lankan Governemnt gives the true and detailed sources nobody even feel that they exist or is there Huam rihghts groups active in Sri Lanka. It is shame that all these organizations open there mouths only for justify LTTE and it works. There is no doubt about what they were doing last 06 years in Sri Lanka, Just making money for them and strong the LTTE , nothing else.

Government today denied shelling a makeshift hospital where 16 patients were killed as concern mounted for the safety of non-combatants trapped in the war zone.
Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said security forces were not involved in the attack, which the International Committee of the Red Cross said caused the deaths of 16 patients at Putumattalan on Monday.
Nanayakkara said the military had allowed the ICRC to evacuate 240 patients and 116 others from the hospital to a safer area after the shelling.
"We did not fire at this location on Monday and it is quite possible that the LTTE attacked them," Nanayakkara said, adding the Tigers were stopping civilians from fleeing LTTE-held areas.
The ICRC did not say who was responsible for Monday's attack, but urged both the government and the Tigers to spare civilians.
"We are shocked that patients are not afforded the protection they are entitled to," said Paul Castella, head of the ICRC delegation in Colombo.
"Once more, we call on both parties to meet their obligation under international humanitarian law to spare at all times the wounded and sick people, medical personnel and medical facilities at all times."

Looking at all the torture, rape, amputations, abortion and killings done by the Sri Lankan Army on fleeing Tamils refugees, I think even this RUMOR does remotely sound like a better option for Tamils.
Do you want to know the few of the fate of Tamils refugees or Tamils living under Sri Lankan Army?
The Sri Lankan Army is strictly ordering the doctors at the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Trincomalee Hospital to amputate any Tamil refugee patients that have any small wound in legs or hands. The Sri Lankan Army is ordering the doctors to perform abortion on any pregnant Tamil women refugees. Sri Lankan Army is arresting any men or women to impose torture or rape on them.
In Sri Lankan Army captured Killinochi Hosptial, the Sri Lankan Army keeps all the arrested all young men and women. In the first floor, they keep the all the young men, who are subjected torture and the 2nd floor all the Tamil young women are kept for raping. In the night times, you can hear screaming of young Tamils men and women far away into civilian areas. How do you think the mothers and fathers feel? What do you think the relatives and friends would feel?
You think LTTE just happened over night and Tamils, even after left the Sri Lanka for decades, still support LTTE? We still have friends and relatives in the areas, and we can find out the truth not the RUMORS as they are posted here. That’s why we can confidently say it is propaganda.
You may want to read real views of the conflict.
Amy,
Either you don't the Tamils side of the suffering, or your never attempted to see if there could be another side to the stories. Alternativly, you do know, but could not care less.
Your comments do not seem to be neutral as in the comments you can write your opinion. In addition to that, Hiranya Malwatta calling somebody Stupido did not bother you, but somebody calling the posting propaganda in his / her opinion did bother you to the extent to voice your objections, great.
I thought this is a very neutral web site for some reason.
