A Large Stock of LTTE Arms and Ammunition Found (English)

Despite knowing that the battle hardned SLA is much superior to them, LTTE caders - under trained and under equipped - chose to fight till their death. The photos released by the SLA shows that most of them don't even have footwear and just dressed as civilians. Still they did not give up fighting.

Why...??

Please read to know the reason.

According to defence sources, security forces asked the trapped LTTE cadres to surrender, before launching the military onslaught against them.

"We called them to surrender via their (LTTE) radio frequencies, but they were ordered to fight to their death by the LTTE leadership," a senior ground commander said.

Asked why the LTTE cadres chose to do so, he said that they had no other option. "Their family members are held hostage by the LTTE leadership in the No-Fire Zone.

"In reality, they (LTTE) were not only ordered to fight to their death, but also ordered to not even think about coming back to NFZ alive if they had any love for their family members there," he said.

"We heard them pleading to the LTTE leadership to let them withdraw before we attacked them, but their request was not granted," the ministry quoted the commander as saying.

According to sources, all senior LTTE leaders are now hiding in the No Fire Zone, a small stretch of land where the rebels are now confined to after losing Pudukuduriyirippu, and are holding civilians as protective shields.

Good post and Now there in the No fire Zone. Lets see the international organizations as they are still silent on this matter. Imagine about the stories shelling to No fire zone, but no body tells that LTTE present in No fire zone.

Thanks Chanaka,

I think that the kind of weapons captured from LTTE  that is comparable to what the army has (not to mention the communication towers, mobile command centers, anti aircraft guns, radars etc) are used to entertain the children. Or atleast what the International NGOs are thinking. Oh , the tamil * (net, org, com, edu , biz and whatever domain names available) does not say how LTTE  got these weapons and most importantly why they did not spend the money on the welfare of King(kong) Bhiraphaaran's "subjects". I have seen that someone made a post about questioning the GoSL's policies on money spending on weapons. What the GoSL is supposed to do when they have to face this kind of firepower? No answer. Is there any accounts from where and how LTTE got their money? No answer. How the money been spent? No answer.

No, I don’t think that any INNGOs would come to SL at this time. Especially since there is less chances to have leisure and more work to do. Second thing is that they know how the terrorists treat NGO workers from the example given by their brethrens among Taliban and Abu Sayed group in Philipines.
