LTTE suicide attack targeting Merchant Ship
MoD just realesed a video regarding the Suicide Attack, there MERCS RUHUNA transfering Cement.
Today 22nd October at about 5.00 AM LTTE Sea Tigers launched pre-Dawn Black tiger attack near Vadamaraadchi North close to Kankasanthurai Naval base(KKS) targeting two Sri Lankan Merchant Ships named"Ruhuna and Nimalawa"those carring essential foods to the innocent civilians living in Jaffna.Meanwhile MoD says 3 LTTE boats came two the attack and two destroyed by Sri Lankan Navy, one is blew near Ship Nimalawa causing a considerable damage. No damage to Crew members and believed all the LTTE carders killed in this brutality mission. It is reported one Boat captured by Navy. That boat powered with a 15HP Motar and fiber made one..
Ltte media earlier reported the incident with a headline "Explosions target Sri Lankan ships in the seas off Vadamaraadchi".Pro-Ltte web site just now realesed with a headline "Sea Tigers sink Sri Lankan supply ship".It further says that Cargo Ship MV Nimalawa was sunked and other was heavy damaged.
It Further says"The mission was led by Black Sea Tiger Lt. Col. Ilakkiyaa, the deputy commander of the Sea Tigers' female wing, who sacrificed her life with Black Sea Tiger Commando Lt. Col. Kuperan.
But Sri Lankan Army web site says "Both Ships are unbroken and Processing Unloading the Foods at MAILADY .
Sri Lanka Nave web site says further "The ships were carrying humanitarian assistance from Colombo to the civilians in the Northern peninsula whose livelihood is being disrupted due to the atrocities perpetrated by the LTTE terror outfit which is being continuously defeated from all fronts in the battlefield.
This is yet another ruthless LTTE act against the humanitarian assistance process that is being carried out by the Government in its ever increasing concern towards the innocent people who have been held captive by the ruthless LTTE as human shields for they are no longer able to face the victorious government security forces.
This clearly manifests the ruthless and merciless nature of the LTTE outfit as they have brazenly attempted to destroy merchant ships exclusively charted for humanitarian purposes. "

The following video was circulated though cell phone by a Sinhala soldier. Depicts the in-humane attitude of the Sinhala soldiers. Contains very disturbing scenes, view with caution.

(defence.lk) LTTE claims "sinking" the MVs:
"Two big explosions were heard in the seas off Kaankeasanthu'rai Harbour in Jaffna around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday. Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers fired rockets from their coastal positions in Vadamaraadchi North...," reported pro-LTTE news sources, who in their second leads followed the news with the destruction of a MV in the suicide attack.
"The supply ship was sunk and another vessel, MV Ruhunuwa, sustained heavy damages," the sources reported. Some foreign media elements also clutched on to the LTTE propaganda version reporting same, only later to realise being hoodwinked.
The LTTE's attempt at spin on the situation boomeranged as images from the confrontation site were posted within hours of the incident. Despite its array of efforts to whitewash the LTTE, following the failed attack on the two MV with essential cargo, pro-LTTE media declared the death of two suicide terrorists including a senior female cadre (Ilakkiyaa).
