Luciano Aviello Says Amanda Knox, Raffaele Sollecito and Rudy Guede Are Innocent of Meredith Kercher's Murder

Luciano Aviello is currently serving 17 years for being involved with the Camorra crime family, but he reportedly gave a videotaped interview with Amanda Knox's lawyers saying that he can prove that all three people in jail for Meredith Kercher's murder are innocent.

He can prove it because he says his brother committed the murder.

He says he wrote to the court when Amanda Knox's trial was happening to say that he had evidence about the case, but no one ever wrote him back. He was reportedly living down the street from Amanda and Meredith's house, under a different identity as he had recently testified against some members of the Italian mob.

The videotaped interviews with Aviello, conducted in March, show him telling Knox's lawyers that his brother came home one night and said that he had killed a girl during an attempted robbery.

"When he came to my house he had a bloodstained jacket on and was carrying a flick knife. He said he had broken into a house and killed a girl and then he had run away,"

The whereabouts of Aviello's brother do not seem to be known at this time.

"I know [he was involved] because my brother confessed to me that he had killed Meredith and he asked me to hide a blood-stained knife and set of keys," he said, according to an attachment to Knox's appeal documents

He says he can prove it all because he buried the evidence at his house and he is happy to stand up in court and testify.

His brother reportedly told him that him and another man broke in to the girl's home and found Kercher and Guede together. His brother said Kercher started screaming so he stabbed her in the throat and then tried to stop her from screaming.

Giuliano Mignini, the Italian prosecutor in the Knox case, said that Aviello's 'evidence' is dismissible as the court had deemed him not credible and decided not to proceed further. There will now be a new investigation opened in to Aviello and in to the location of the knife and the set of keys. A spokesperson for the Knox family said he fears police may not have investigated the matter further at the time because they decided they had already solved the case and that Amanda was guilty.

Amanda Knox is appealing her sentence, which will most likely be held in the fall and the investigation will take place before that time. She is currently serving a  26 year sentence in Italy.

They should have investigated the man's story although Rudy Guede is guilty as hell. Amanda & Raffaele are innocent. Go to injusticeinperugia.org and see the crime scene photos. You will understand they are innocent.

@Yoyohoyo  - I agree with you.  This man's claims should have been investigated to validate or otherwise.  No stone should be left unturned in this case.  It is appalling the way that this whole case has been conducted.  Amanda and Raffaele should not be sitting in jail.  They should be free.  They are innocent people, who have been wrongly convicted of this terrible crime.  Stand up for justice!!
