Lying as a political Tactic
Changing the behavior of citizens is the first step to persuade.
Politicians have always used the lie at his convenient. Lying is the most effective weapon to manipulate the feelings.
When the politician conceals the facts to the public and there are no other means of knowing the facts, then the public cannot defend.
For example, the first Soviet political leadership described itself as a person possessing the truth, but then distort the facts to interpret according to communist ideology.
Hitler was the politician who used more lies as a weapon to persuade.
The political propaganda of an authoritarian regime is very different from the political propaganda of a democratic regime.
The behavior and decisions are determined by two factors: (1) wishes, (2) information regarding the means to achieve those desires.
If politicians discover the wishes of the people then talk about the facts related to these desires and hide the facts contrary to those desires. So the policy intensifies hatred propaganda against the enemy and never against the ally.
For example in the current conflict between Spain and Venezuela on account of the case of the ETA terrorists, Chavez attacked first but secretly preparing a statement peaceful, if Zapatero accepted Chavez's speech then he would be demonstrating that he had not a defensive response. This is what Chavez wanted.
Rewriting history is what dictators do. Chavez denies his relationship with the terrorist groups FARC and ETA. Raúl Castro tries to rewrite history to deny the crimes committed with political prisoners.
The false promises are lies concerning the future. Reflect on expectations more or less true, is a procedure close to lying. Chavez promises to effectively solve the energy crisis, as he says this crisis is due to environmental phenomenon called “the child”, but society knows that the crisis is due to the lack of investment in thermoelectric plants.
The political propaganda and control is exercised without such propaganda is not reclined with rules. Chavez can lie about what Spanish judge said. With this behavior Chavez risks nothing. Currently, there is no international authority that can sanction a misleading political advertising.
There are many ways of lying. In political propaganda lies are deliberate. One thing that exists, it not exists; also a thing that does not then, exist; or deformed something that does exist.
The politician lies with the Word; with an altered picture; with fake characters or with fake phenomena.
Other techniques: diverting attention (curtain of Smoke) or contradictory news release.
