truthcaster, these two cases aren't actually connected at all - I think that they need to be divided up or you need more transition between the two.
NP Rank:
Philippines Senate President Ernesto Maceda is being sued for libel. The case stemmed from a column written by Maceda in the Daily Tribune newspaper. The column allege that former Labor Secretary and now Development Bank of the Philippines chairperson Patricia Sto Tomas received P10 million Christmas bonus. Also named in the lawsuit is publisher Ninez Cacho Olivares.
In a similar case, Eliseo Fernando Soriano is yet to face his accusers who sued him for libel. Still at large two years after a arrest warrant was issued for a separate rape case. The rape case involves a former male assistant who alleged in his lawsuit that Soriano used his "moral ascendancy" to force his assistant to have anal intercouse with him. To complicate matters, in November 2008, Soriano was charged of falsification of public document for faking his own surrender. Soriano has an Interpol wanted poster.

Can see what both these cases have to do with each other?
Is this away to bring up your problem about the religion that Eliseo Fernando Soniano represented its is in fact a fundamental religion where the followers believe they are the only ones that can read the bible and understand it. Eliseo like others have used this religion for personal funding he was crooked from the start and it was obvious he treated religion as a money maker. This religion was started at the time Chinese Filipino's and some of the Elite Filipino's where joking about starting a religion as it makes money.
Most of the members can not be blame for being indoctrinated as with any religious follower how ever corrupt priests and perverted ones whatever can be blamed for their miss doings. I feel sorry for any one caught up in some of these stupid man made religions mainly the methodology is to place food and wealth on the leaders table. I still laugh at the Chinese Filipino party jokes about religion and they are very right and its very sad to see all the conflict about Filipino religion on the news communities as it general shows the Filipino's in a bad light like they are religious bunch of corrupt idiots where as coming aside from such religious argument that Filipino's mostly say they are Christians on paper and are now questioning Christanity because of all the priests short comings and the more and more young filipino's actually reading the bible and find it questionable.
Philippines Senate President Ernesto Maceda is being sued for libel yes and its very possible in the Filipino corrupt world that he is really in trouble because he got the size of christmas bonus wrong, lol however the courts will decide the issues of this case and i hope justice prevails.

I believe this is a case of degrading somebody in this site. I don't understand why you would say something like this to someone. It is as if you knew the person that much.
"Eliseo like others have used this religion for personal funding he was crooked from the start and it was obvious he treated religion as a money maker."
I challenge this member of nowpublic to bring out factual and first hand evidences in relation to his "his way" of character assassination to Mr. Eliseo Soriano.

As Babel-Fish has pointed out, the two stories are not related. The headline is misleading, since I was expecting the news to be about Maceda and the Tribune only. Soriano has nothing to do with the main story.
