Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way (Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 11-25-10)

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Was Held Thursday Morning in New York

Tens of thousands of people showed up to watch the famous parade that included new balloons and the likes of Kanye West, Kylie Minogue, Gladys Knight and Juanes. The cast of Elf and American Idiot also performed along the route.

The parade was broadcast on TV and some sites streaming it online. Both NBC and CBS has had really high numbers of viewers from all over the world.

Joining the world famous balloon line-up was a kung-fu panda, the Wimpy Kid and Virginia O'Hanlon, whose letter to the editor elicited the response, "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus."

Other balloon favorites that made an appearance this Thanksgiving Day included Snoopy, Sailor Mickey and Spider Man (check out the Snoopy pictures below).

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade route started at 77th and Central Park West, turning east on 59th Street, then went down 7th Ave. The Parade then heads East on 42nd Street, south on 6th Ave, then west on 34th Street. The parade ends at Macy's in Herald Square (34th and 7th).

Once Santa comes through the parade route the parade is over and the Christmas celebrations and Black Friday shopping can begin.

Happy Thanksgiving 2010!

It would have been nice to actually see the parade on CBS.  What was shown was a few floats, bands and inflatables.  Most of the time we were looking at the commentators and their guests.  We were very disappointed.  We remember when the parade was the important part and the commentators were voices in the background explaining what the floats represented.  If this is the way of the future in parade broadcasts we will not be watching again.  Also too many commercials.

Where is the parade? I saw a variety show not a parade! Changed the channel after 30 minutes!

I agree with the comments made by Casndice and Barb.  My relatives also agree.  Watched  for 45 min and was disappointed so changed channels.
