Madhu Church feast in mid August

A special discussion was held this morning in the presence of Bishop Rayappu Joseph at the Mannar Bishop’s House to decide on requesting state sponsorship for this year’s feast of the most sacred Madhu Churchto be held on August 15.

 

The discussion centered round the concerns of security for the devotees who wish to worship the most sacred Madhu shrine.

 

The Sacred Church of Madhu was within LTTE controlled areas until its liberation by the Sri Lanka Army on April last year. The withdrawing Tigers had caused considerable damage to the church. The Army affected the necessary repairs and cleared the area as well.
