Main Street turns against Wall Street & Politicians BailOut
NEW YORK (Fortune) -- In one frenzied month Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke remade Wall Street. Along the way they may also have recast American politics. A month of historic government interventions shows signs of triggering a political version of climate change - unleashing a new era of class fury that could hurt U.S. companies, business leaders, and wealthy investors for years. Will a bailout backlash batter corporate America? Tell us what you think.
"A potential calamity," predicts Democratic pollster Doug Schoen. "If the reactions we're seeing hold, we could have real spasmodic anger directed at businesses and corporations." And the timing will have consequences, says financier and onetime GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney: "Unfortunately, politicians have seized on the politics of envy," he told Fortune, "and they are stoking it this election year like I've never seen in my lifetim

"Email AND Phone Senators Shelby, Bunning, Kyle, Hagel
Whether Senator Shelby is your Senator or not, flood him with calls and emails asking for a filibuster and to stop the insanity. Senators Shelby, Bunning, and Kyle might be sympathetic to the cause, based on past statements. I am taking a stab at Hagel.
Please email and phone the following. Specifically ask for a filibuster and tell them to vote no to any bailout.

Deeply dislike seeing Congress have to put the American taxpayers on the hook for what was a legal robbery. What has me angered is that Secretary Paulson was the CEO of Goldman prior to having his arm twisted by Dubya, and no doubt he was well aware of the enviable failure to come. But while ol' Greenspan using his own economic language ("greenspeak") was giving Congress another bellyrub knew what the future held, and so did the insiders in Congress. So, now let the hearing began... we need to identify and prosecute the manipulators and violators of our trust (if possible) and bring them to justice.
Have already jumped all-over my Senator and Representative for what is now the 45th district of California... and would have called Sonny personally if he was still alive. It is hoped the end result of this debacle will make <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />America's financial system stronger. Now its Europe's turn to bite the bullet beginning with Bradford & Bingley and Fortis, still just the tip of the iceberg!!!!

Even many bankers are opposed to this bailout bill. It looks like some 94 Democrats and 133 Republicans decided they'd like to get re-elected. But they are going to try to force a new vote on it in the House.
