Rains Fail

Nairobi is facing three day power rationing for most of the city to enable supply to the Industry area, as we bemoaned the lack of power, the bubble of illusion often found in big cities which become countries of their own, burst on a trip upcountry.

RED DUST & TERMITES REIGN SUPREME

Termites thirst for liquid in the parched Embu countryside, drives them to eat this once beautiful tree.

Yellow stumps of corn lie desolate as far as the eye can see. Red dust mingles with the clear blue skies as a canopy, beautiful colours gifted from a kind creator, yet a sad tale lies within the picture.

We pray for the rains for our people.

Sending you positive thoughts and prayers for rain.  I live in California and we are in a drought, but it is nothing close to the desolation you are describing.

Thank you. We will pray for you. We are fortunate in the City, our bubble, luckily Nairobians are very generous people, the workhorses in the city, and will continue I am sure as always, to support their families, friends and even whole villages in the country, in these hard times.

You are welcome.  Indeed you are fortunate to live among generous people whose love and support reach beyond themselves for the betterment of the community as a whole.
