An army major, an engineer and reservist, had filed suit that the military orders for his deployment to Afghanistan were illegal orders. The major, Stefan Frederick Cook, held that the president was not, in fact, an American citizen.

This would be an old story, but for the fact that the major's orders have been changed by the army, which apparently would rather change the orders than produce the long-form birth certificate, the legal proof of Obama's birth in Honolulu, Hawaii, that would establish Obama as a natural born citizen.

This case annuls the argument that the certificate of live birth, the document we see on the Internet, is proof of a birth in Honolulu.

Had the certificate of live birth been enough, then the major would have lost the case. Apparently what happened is that the army folded, unable to produce the required legal proof, once again, the actual certificate of live-birth.

Interviews with major's attorney, Dr. Orly Taitz, have been included. To demonstrate the depth of passion of the opposition to this movement questioning Obama's citizenship, a video of MSNBC's Olbermann calling the major and his attorney "the worst people in the world" has been included as well.

A U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida scheduled to report for deployment to Afghanistan within days has had his military orders revoked after arguing he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his eligibility for office.

His attorney, Orly Taitz, confirmed to WND the military has rescinded his impending deployment orders.

"We won! We won before we even arrived," she said with excitement. "It means that the military has nothing to show for Obama. It means that the military has directly responded by saying Obama is illegitimate – and they cannot fight it. Therefore, they are revoking the order!"

She continued, "They just said, 'Order revoked.' No explanation. No reasons – just revoked."

A hearing on the questions raised by Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook, an engineer who told WND he wants to serve his country in Afghanistan, was scheduled for July 16 at 9:30 a.m.

"As an officer in the armed forces of the United States, it is [my] duty to gain clarification on any order we may believe illegal. With that said, if President Obama is found not to be a 'natural-born citizen,' he is not eligible to be commander-in-chief," he told WND only hours after the case was filed.

"[Then] any order coming out of the presidency or his chain of command is illegal. Should I deploy, I would essentially be following an illegal [order]. If I happened to be captured by the enemy in a foreign land, I would not be privy to the Geneva Convention protections," he said.

The order for the hearing in the federal court for the Middle District of Georgia from U.S. District Judge Clay D. Land said the hearing on the request for a temporary restraining order would be held Thursday.

Cook said without a legitimate president as commander-in-chief, members of the U.S. military in overseas actions could be determined to be "war criminals and subject to prosecution."

He said the vast array of information about Obama that is not available to the public confirms to him "something is amiss."

"That and the fact the individual who is occupying the White House has not been entirely truthful with anybody," he said. "Every time anyone has made an inquiry, it has been either cast aside, it has been maligned, it has been laughed at or just dismissed summarily without further investigation.

"You know what. It would be so simple to solve. Just produce the long-form document, certificate of live birth," he said.

Cook said he was scheduled to report for duty tomorrow, on July 15, to deploy to Afghanistan as part of President Obama's plan to increase pressure of insurgent forces there.

He told WND he would be prepared for a backlash against him as a military officer, since members of the military swear to uphold and follow their orders. However, he noted that following an illegal order would be just as bad as failing to follow a legal order.

Because Baby Boomers and a big slice of Gen X are very narcissistic and can't admit to being wrong and won't go out and end it once and for all with the correct certificates and the rest.

What will happen is that the Supreme Court will find Obama not to be a natural born citizen, and everything he has signed will be nullified and everyone he has appointed, or is about to appoint, such as Sotomayor, will be out of a job.

This will be chaos on the highest level.

Once a Florida Cracker (I'm using this term in a non-derogatory and joking manner) get's the feeling that he's been wronged, there's no turning back! LOL! Alot of southerners, in the U.S., go by "the book", as it were, because they feel that "the book" has been thrown at them for generations and that history has given them a bad rap. There's also a long military tradition in America's deep south. Consequently duty, honor, and country is taken very seriously in their neck of the woods. Payback doesn't often present itself to them, but when it does, watch out!

The story was on Drudge and I was wondering why no one had posted it. This is major news. The debate is over.

Obama may yet prove himself a citizen, but my intuition says that if it were so easy for him to do that, it would have been done already.

And, letting this one slip by uncontested because you still refuse to produce the document is just crazy and totally unbelievable.

What has bothered me from the beginning about this is that, if Obama was born in a hospital in Honolulu as he claims, where is the doctor and where are the nurses who attended this birth?

There would be news stories on this. There would be pictures of the event or someone's diary besides the official paper.

And, what else bothers me is that no one can contest the fact the Barry Saetoro lived in Indonesia and went to a Muslim state school, was registered as a Muslim and was registered as an Indonesian citizen as well.

That all could have only happened because Obama had been adopted by his father and because his mother had become an Indonesian citizen.

The mainstream media are in bed with this man.

Obama's Shifty Economics
Now President Obama says in The Washington Post that he never envisioned that his stimulus package would afford quick relief to the American economy, but would do so only after it had run its two-year course. But when it was passed, Obama sang a different tune, urgently demanding its enactment to speed relief to a sagging economy. He claimed it would "create or save" 600,000 jobs. Now, even as the economy loses 450,000 jobs each month, he pretends that it is a matter of time until the stimulus kicks in.

He now justifies the stimulus package by saying it was adopted to prevent the "collapse" of the economy and the banking systems. But it was really the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), first passed under President Bush, that stopped the banks from going under. At the time of the enactment of the stimulus package, Obama never mentioned that he was counting on it to save the banks.

All these shifting justifications are designed to explain why the stimulus package has totally failed to accomplish anything. Not only has it done no good. It has done significant harm by ballooning the deficit, driving up interest rates, creating doubts about the U.S. currency and fanning inflationary fears.

But Obama has paid and will continue to pay dearly for betting on his stimulus package. Because of it, the Bush recession is becoming the Obama recession much faster than it would have had he adopted a more gradual approach to solving economic problems. By jumping in immediately, as he did, in order to increase government spending and pass eight years of Democratic dreams in one day, he made the public expect a solution.

At first, a sick patient looks forward to seeing the doctor. But when the medicine his physician gives him fails to make him better, he is likely to turn on his doctor. And then, gradually, when it dawns on him that the cure is making the disease last longer and get worse, he will really get mad at the physician. This is Obama's fate.

This is getting fun! Now that's a very serious charge to accuse someone of being as "mental" as Rush Limbaugh. I bet that those accused haven't got hit on the head with nearly as many golf balls! But in all seriousness: There seems to be something going on with the circumstances of President Obama's birth and the back-up documentation. If everything was ship-shape, why would a judge even hear Major Cook's case? The CIA and FBI have taken alot of political heat throughout the past few years. Why would both of those agencies, with all their worries, want to get involved in a political potato as hot as this one? It's quite possible that Clinton and McCain could have exposed Obama as not being a natural born citizen of the U.S.. But then again, maybe they didn't have enough facts at the time to make their "exposure" stick and they didn't want to risk looking silly. And perhaps they didn't want to take the political gamble of beating up on America's first African-American president. Who knows what went on behind the election scenes?

Obama won because the people elected him democratically. Last I heard, that little island is part of the USA.

He has made an effort to reach out to other human beings on this planet, and to establish international relations, realizing that we all need each other. We are interdependent. The world ecomony depends on international trade and cooperation, including America.

This world can no longer exist with the "them against us" or "we are better than anyone else" mentality.

The goodwill he is spreading throughout the world will be remembered, and when he asks for something in the future, he will more likely get cooperation from them. You catch more flies with honey.

I predict he will be known as one of the greatest presidents in US history.

This is not about "us vs them". This is about: is he a natural born citizen or not? What are the facts? Where was he born? What was the law at the time? Did he become a citizen of Indonesia while living there? Does he, in fact, have two passports?

sara star: I agree with much of what you say. Especially in regard to the "them against us" mentality. But what concerns me is that there seems to be a number of persisitent questions regarding President Obama's birth records and those questions don't seem to go away. And what's disturbing is that anyone who raises the issue is dismissed as a wing-nut, birther, etc. If the shoe were on the other foot and it was a Republican (say McCain) that had similar birth record issues, the other side of the political spectrum would have just as many questions. There are indeed far right wing nuts out there (just as there are far left wing nuts) that simply hate President Obama and will use any issue against him. But I think that there are many level-headed individuals that don't have a political axe to grind that simply have legitimate concerns.

Communism & marxism is not goodwill. Also, if we let this pass because he sems like a nice guy, our constitution won't mean a thing to guide us by. I think many people would have voted for Colin Powell a few years ago if he'd run for President. This isn't about hating any race : it is about abiding by the Law. If it comes down to a popularity contest, do we then start giving heavy punishments to ugly criminals and light punishments to good-looking ones or popular ones? Aren't people already miffed about rich and famous people getting off light compared to "commoners" when legal trouble is involved? This IS about equality, even though Obama is (called) black. (Remember, he's 1/2 "white", too.) Seeing him on TV, he seems to have a VERY nice personality, but our Laws aren't based on personality. Just like you have to be a certain age to run for president, for well-thought-out reasons, this natural-born citizen rule is the same way. Our president isn't supposed to represent the world, he is supposed to represent the American people.

What it shows is that your cynicism is sadly lacking, drained dry by an idealized conception of fellow members of the apparent progressive side of things. Be cynical to the entire 360 degrees of perspective. You are not even skeptical of what your side believes to be the truth. That is an abandonment of skepticism at the very moment in which cynicism would dictate that things could really be that bad.

You also don't get how afraid Clinton is of the other members of the elite. She is deadly afraid of being considered a racist and will walk on eggshells and worse to avoid the label.

She is half-strong. She is a person symbiotically attached to her husband, in any case. Any real woman with her own real sense of worth would have left Billy-Bob with his girlfriends and would in no way even have lasted long enough to be humiliated by him in the White House itself.

In any case, you have determined that your compass reading on personality and character is so infallible that an actual look at facts and laws involved would not be necessary.

How many times in how many places for how many people cock sure of their take on reality has such a position failed?

As a student of history, I can say many, many times.

Looking at the facts and not the personalities involved, the fact remains that one major has had his orders rescinded because he merely said that his Commander-in-Chief is not a US citizen.

What did the US Army do then? They turned tail and ran knowing that they don't have the firepower to overcome that, given that Obama has spent close to a million dollars already to decide something that could be resolved in a few minutes.

So, wing-nut I may be, but I am a wing-nut who drops the balls off the tower, checks to see if the moons of Jupiter go around Jupiter and I don't have a hierarchy of people I can consult instead of reason and the facts as you do.

What we have here is the famous "failure to commuicate" that happens whenever an orthodoxy takes over for reason and skepticism. This "failure to communicate" is part of the more extreme left's flight from life which allows them to know ahead of time what to back, what idea to mock and how to stay in with the "in" crowd.

You may be a wing-nut of whichever calibre you so choose, freedom of choice isn't redundant I believe - yet, and I will once again, because you neglected to to use the nominee of the GOP, one Mr J McCain.

While you are dropping those balls do you, in all the honesty that you can muster - taking into account that the incumbent was also a GOP president and STILL CiC, believe that John McCain would not use this 'news' to blast Obama out of the water?

As a history buff myself I have also seen many, many strange encounters in history where the political elite will help one of their own regardless of dislike. Bush may have hated McCain with consummate passion - yet he, like the rest of the GOP wanted, and obviously still want, to hold onto power.

Hilary Clinton showed, on many occasions throughout the primaries that she had no fear whatsoever of Obama, none.

But - we have to come back to the pure art of politics, the art of winning at all costs. If what you say is true - where is it that Obama has not been exposed by those media outlets who are 100% against him? How is it that the most complex of secret service and law enforcement in the whole world have not said - because they are constitutionally mandated to do so - that Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen of the USA?

My cynicism is not one of 360 degrees on the X axis - but one of the Y axis, too.

There are still, as shown, many people in the US who still have a problem with a Democrat as president of the US - this, to me, comes as no surprise at all - for not just in the US does the right feel they are the natural leaders, and advocates of the status quo. Conservatism runs deep in many a-country, and it is cynics like me - all blustered with scepticism and cynicism - that we expose right-wing dogma.

Yes, McCain would not use it because he is actually damaged goods from the trauma of all that torture and his own guilt for bombing the North Vietnamese.

He would not use this. Hell, he wouldn't even say "Barrack Hussein Obama".

McCain led in the polls until the TARP bailout of the banks, where much cooler cat Obama looked better. Maybe he thought that it would blow up in his face if he had tried that tactic, unsure if it was true or not.

This has nothing to do with dogma. I was skeptical about this at first. But, over the years, I have learned to look for the facts, not what I prefer to be true or just someone's reputation.

But, once again, you don't argue the facts. You argue scenarios based on how you think reality works. The facts don't support any of your hypotheses.

The US Army major won't have to go to Afghanistan because the US Army's entire legal department, a well-trained, highly intelligent group of officers steeped in national and international law, couldn't find a way around the "inconvenient fact" of no birth certificate.

Obama got away with this for so long he doesn't think he can be caught. Now he's not so sure.

Really - don't you think that it already has been? Before Obama could have even thought about running for president he must/would have been vetted! John McCain was born in Panama - yet John McCain is a natural born American citizen.

I suppose you could say that Elvis is living in a chip shop in Burnley, Princess Di is an Arab Queen with 10 kids and that Neil Armstrong is still walking on the ocean floor to prove he stood on the moon.

Could I just throw one thing out there that could, could just be possible? The Major really didn't want to go to war, like so many others, and to stop that he used whatever he could to not go? Could it be that the Army took this stance because of other reasons than a court case about the birth certificate of the current president of the US?

The document is not forged. It is simply not a birth certificate. It is a registration of live birth and does not prove where Obama was born.

The case of the major demonstrates, as I keep saying here ad nauseum, that that is not a birth certificate, and the lawyers for the US Army are intelligent enough to find that damn certificate of live birth and it didn't do the trick, pure and simple.

That is the legality of it. It should be easy to find that real birth certificate. It should be right at the hospital in Honolulu.

But, the "hospital in Honolulu" has changed several times already. :)

Obama's records are sealed on order of the governor of Hawaii. Interesting? Why would that be?

The true believers are just like the Italians in Pisa who saw the balls fall from the Tower of Pisa, dropped by Galileo, who would not admit that the smaller, lighter ball traveled just as fast as the heavier one.

The major didn't want to go to war and then you deal with it as such. Dealing with it as giving legitimacy to the claim that Obama doesn't have proof of his citizenship creates precedent that would only be created because the army lawyers ran out of options.

Where is the explanation from the army? Where is this proof that Obama is a citizen?

The major didn't want to go to war and used it as as opportunity to try to slander Obama. The Army, in it's wisdom, decided not to engage a lunatic and dismissed him outright.

If you'd bothered to research the proof Obama provided of his birth, this silly slander could have been avoided. Or perhaps not. Facts don't seem to be relevant to Republicans.
