Yes, it is heartbreaking. Even more heartbreaking than the beautiful presentation is that it's about 20 years old (the teenager talks about a global population of five billion and it's now over six billion), and, while the ozone gap has diminished, most matters have only gotten worse. If those kids were talking today to an international audience, the major blight on their future would be global warming, not the loss of biodiversity, disturbing as that was and remains.

So well said, and as true today as it was 20 years ago. Considering that she and I are now about the same age (I'm 32 as well) it breaks my heart to see we, the children who plead in this instance for a change - are the ones fighting the establishment so hard to bring it about - and not succeeding because our parents generation - our grandparents generation still are in control of the world.
