Malik Hasan Regains Consciousness, Hailed 'Hero' by Islamic Chief
Malik Hasan, the suspected shooter in Fort Hood killings that claimed the lives of 13 people and wounded 29, has now regained consciousness and is able to talk. Doctors say Hasan is in critical but stable condition. He was in the state of coma ever since the attacks. It is not clear if Hasan has been interrogated by the US officials yet.
A spokesman at the hospital, Dewey Mitchell, told the Associated Press news agency Maj Hasan had been able to speak since Saturday, when he was taken off a ventilator.
Meanwhile, Anwar al Awlaki, a Yemen-based Muslim spiritual leader who allegedly had connections with 9/11 hijackers, has praised the actions of Hasan on his blog today, calling him a 'hero.' In addition, it became known today that the US intelligence services knew months ago that Hasan was trying to make 'electronic' contact with Al Qaeda representatives, but it is not clear if this information was ever made known to the army command.
There will be a memorial service held for Fort Hood victims on Tuesday, November 10, which will be attended by US President Barack Obama.

The comments on this article were shocking too. It was said they carry out these orders from the Muslims overseas or their families will be killed. These people have got to be held accountable that talk like this on the web. They are giving orders to kill via our inventions..what losers...
It reminds me of the children kidnapped or being molested. They are often threatened with the death of their parents if they tell. Pure evil
Why do countries harbor people who talk like this dude: Anwar al Awlaki, a Yemen-based Muslim spiritual leader..I suppose they too live with blackmail.

So, the CIA knew for months that Hasan was attempting to make contact with al Qaeda.
I guess he was "going to do good work for God," all right, just not what any American would have imagined.
Why was he still in the US Army?
