The man accused of beating a woman to death in a Parma park earlier this month attacked another woman that same day in her apartment, prosecutors said.

In the previously undisclosed attack, Todd Torok by hit the victim in the head with a dumbbell and gagged her in an attempted robbery, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason said Friday.

Torok, 39, was indicted Friday on 19 charges from the two attacks. Those include aggravated murder charges punishable by death.

"I am convinced that in 1981 when the legislature reinstated the death penalty, it was for guys like this," Mason said. "These are the crimes that need to get the death penalty."
