Man arrested for allegedly beating 1-month-old baby

LANCASTER, S.C. -- A Lancaster man is under arrest, accused of beating his girlfriend's 1-month-old daughter.

Investigators say William Burdick, 27, was watching the child while the mother was out of the home.

She told police that when she returned home, the baby had cuts on her lip and bruises on her arms. The baby is now in intensive care with bleeding on the brain

Burdick isn't the child's father. Police tell NewsChannel 36 that he's a registered sex offender in New York.
