Man attempts to hijack Alitalia Paris-Rome flight

An attempt to hijack an Italian airline demanded to be diverted to Libya was been foil when the hijacker was overpower by the cabin crew of the Alitalia's Paris to Rome flight, after he threatened them with a knife. The plane landed safely at Rome's Fiumicino airport. He is identified as 48 years old Valery Tolmachev, a member of the Kazakh delegation at UNESCO in Paris.
