CHP Supposedly Rescued Man From Burning Car, but Video Shows Otherwise

A homeless man who was living in his car had died from burn injuries after his car caught fire. The car fire occurred in Los Angeles, near Culver City, just after midnight on July 5.

The story didn't get much attention, but reports state that California Highway Patrol officers rescued the man from his car. However, no paramedics or law enforcement officers can be seen in the video below: the man is clearly lying on his own next to the burning car, and he is also clearly on fire. The car fire video is NSFW: a man is burning alive.

We see several bystanders approach the man: several of them filming on their phones, while a few actually do something useful. Yelling "are you okay?" at a man who is on fire will never be met with "Yes".

Throughout the video, which shows the address of the building referenced in the news article (6666 Green Valley Circle), no uniformed officers appear. Only locals.

You'd think that, if the CHP and Fire Department really showed up in time, that they'd be the ones rescuing the man, or at least extinguishing the flames. There are a few edit points in the video, but there's no visual evidence at all that law enforcement officers had been at the scene: no extinguished car, no medical blankets, no professional first-aid equipment.

The rescue would seem to have happened before the paramedics arrived.
