Man wanted for 52 counts of sexual assault in Newport News
Police are seeking a man charged with committing 52 counts of sexual assault against two Newport News girls.
Jerry Thomas Tomlin, Jr., 47, is charged with 26 counts of indecent liberties with a child, 25 counts of sodomy and one count of attempted sodomy, Newport News police said.
The victims were sexually assaulted between January 2005 and July 2008, police said. They are now 12 and 13 years old.
Tomlin is currently a fugitive and may be in Newport News or the High Point North Carolina area, police said. He is described as a white male who is 6’1”, weighs 190 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.
Police said they will not release further information on the relationship between the suspect and the victims. Virginia state law prohibits law enforcement from identifying any sexual assault victim.
